The Safari group and the Knauf group, signed an agreement of partnership

On Wednesday, October 24th, 2001, Thies Knauf, representing the Knauf group and Mohammed Karim Lamrani, president managing director of the Group Safari, signed an agreement of partnership to develop their industrial and commercial activities together in the field of production and in sale of gypsum, dof plasters and products of insulation, being mentioned that since 1974, the Safari group exercised these activities across its subsidiary established in Safi, leader on the Moroccan market : the Moroccan Company of Plaster and Coating, in abbreviated form C.M.P.E.

The agreement intervened between Knauf and Safari S.A is a product of the joint will of both groups to work in close collaboration, each bringing its know-how, its specific experience and its means. It translates wish :

On one hand of Knauf, major actor of the international market of materials devoted to the building which notably renders it, to fill materials and the products of insulation, to establish himself in a more significant way on the Moroccan market,
the diversification of his products,
the increase of its turnover, both on local plan and in exportation.

The participation of the Group Knauf with capital of C.M.P.E came true across a direct investment of the holding company-mother Gebrüder Knauf Verwaltungsgesellschaft KG located in Germany. This step testifies the interest which this group carries in the development of the economy of Morocco.

Agreement signed by both groups leads to cession by Safari S.A of 40 % of the capital of C.M.P.E in Knauf, Moroccan group by keeping 60 %.

Besides, the Knauf group reserves for C.M.P.E the exclusive rights of its presentation in Morocco in the following domains of activity: gypsum, plasters and products of insulation.

Besides the area of the plaster, the Safari group intervenes, across several subsidiaries, in various areas of activities such as manufacture of contreplaqués, of shells and floors,leaven of bread-making and améliorants for the bakery, meters of water and taps, the importation and the marketing of motorized vehicles,of agrarian equipment and civil engineering, the importation of chemicals, textile industry, transit and the consignment of ships as well as farm.
